Dr Dominique Favell

Founder & CEO

Dominique is a doctor with a background in clinical care, health management, and medical device research and development.

She’s spent much of her career working to bring innovative solutions to market—especially those that address unmet clinical needs. That drive to do things differently has shaped her approach to healthcare, particularly in the area of women’s health.

From early in her medical career, Dominique was drawn to more proactive, preventive models of care—ways to keep people well and out of hospital. After nearly 15 years across the health system, it became clear to her that the current model is leaving too many women feeling overlooked, delayed, or dismissed.

This belief led to the creation of ALLY Health—a platform designed to make multidisciplinary, evidence-based care more accessible and personalised. ALLY aims to be a trusted destination where women feel heard, supported, and genuinely cared for, no matter where they live or what barriers they face.

Outside of work, you’ll find Dominique by the ocean, planning her next travel adventure, or chasing after her two cheeky kids.

“Too many women have felt dismissed, judged, or overlooked when seeking healthcare.”

“This often leads to missed or delayed diagnoses, inadequate treatment, and a real impact on their quality of life. That’s why we created ALLY Health—to change the experience by connecting women with trusted, experienced clinicians no matter where they live or what barriers they face.”

Dr Julia Spicer

Clinical Lead

Dr Julia Spicer  a highly experienced GP with a special interest in women’s health and a passion for helping women feel seen, heard, and supported  through every stage of life.

At ALLY Health, Julia leads our clinical team with a warmth, expertise and a commitment to care that’s both evidence-based and rooted in the practicality.  She’s a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners—a mark of advanced training and excellence that recognises her as a fully qualified specialist in general practice  and has over 17 years of clinical experience.

Julia has also completed further training in mental health, obstetrics and gynaecology, family planning, sexual health and paediatrics and is a member of Australian Menopause Society.    This combination gives her a broad, holistic view of women’s health to ensure women receive care that’s both comprehensive  and compassionate.

Her goal? To make accessing expert, supportive care easier—so you can feel confident, informed, and in control of your health.

Outside of work Julia is an outdoors enthusiast and is happiest in the ocean, being surrounded by trees or deep in snow.  She loves to dance like no one is watching and goof around with her two young boys.

“Women are the foundations of society. We wear many hats—raising children, managing households, building careers, and caring for ageing parents.”

“For me, caring for women and empowering them to take control of their health and lives is deeply rewarding and a huge privilege.  When we support women and teach them to prioritise their own wellbeing, the ripple effects are profound: stronger relationships, healthier families, thriving workplaces, and more connected communities.”

Dr Kirsty Short

Patient Experience Lead

Kirsty is a practising Emergency Specialist who holds a leadership position in a major tertiary referral hospital. She has a particular interest in women’s health, point-of-care ultrasound, and medical education.

With significant experience managing patients in crisis, she has seen firsthand the gaps in care and the accessibility barriers that many women face.

Kirsty is passionate about being part of the solution—advocating for proactive, continuous support for women’s health conditions, rather than waiting until they reach breaking point.

Originally from the UK, she still pinches herself waking up in Australia each day. A proud parent of young twins, she’s a lover of bold colours, homewares, and hydrangeas—and will never miss a chance to relive the glory days of 90s music.

“As an emergency physician, I often meet women at crisis point—presenting with heavy bleeding, severe pelvic pain, or other acute symptoms. What I’ve seen time and time again is how fragmented women’s healthcare can be.”

“Many women come into the emergency department after seeing multiple providers, still feeling unheard, unsupported, and without answers. It’s clear they deserve better.

That’s why I’m proud to be part of ALLY Health, where we’re focused on breaking down barriers, streamlining care, and ensuring women feel truly seen and supported. Women play so many roles—partner, mother, daughter, colleague—and they deserve healthcare that helps them show up as their best selves, every day.”
